This week, the new DVD releases are topped off with Disney's animated classic Bambi on Blu-ray/DVD combo.  The new extras for this release include a "Disney's Second Screen" viewing option, with content that "comes alive on your laptop, or iPad as you watch the movie."  The movie is shown in its original aspect ratio of 1.33:1, however, there is a "Disney View" option; which is a 16x9 "full frame viewing experience."  Other extras include an enhanced interactive edition of "Inside Walt's Story Meetings," 2 never-before-seen deleted scenes, a deleted song, and all the previous DVD bonus features are carried over.

Also this week, Burlesque, the dance musical starring Cher and Christina Aguilera.  Extras on Burlesque are a Director's Commentary, an alternate opening, "The Burlesque Lounge: Alternate Full Musical Performances," and a blooper reel.  The Oscar-nominated film 127 Hours, starring James Franco, is out this week, as is the romantic dramedy Love & Other Drugs, starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway.  Surprisingly, one of the top three best sellers this week is the workout DVD by Jillian Michaels, Ripped in 30.  Rounding out the new releases this week is the action/revenge thriller Faster, starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

Megamind, Celtic Thunder, Weeds, Due Date, All-Star Superman...

Two of this week's best sellers are both animated features, and with a superhero theme. The first is the Blu-ray/DVD combo version of the big theatrical release Megamind (and this week's biggest seller) and the other is the direct-to-video All-Star Superman, which is based on one the most celebrated Superman stories in recent history, written by Grant Morrison and illustrated by Frank Quietly. Megamind's Blu-ray/DVD edition is jam-packed with extras, most notably, a new short film, "The Button of Doom" as well as an "Animator's Corner" viewing option, trivia track, filmmakers' commentary, and an "Interactive Comic Creator."  All-Star Superman, in which, again, the Blu-ray/DVD combo is outselling both DVD versions, has a decent amount of extras and should satisfy fans of the comic, with an audio commentary by Grant Morrison and Bruce Timm, a featurette about what inspired Morrison to write the legendary comic mini series, "Incubating the Idea," a conversation with Morrison, All-Star Superman virtual comic book, and a sneak peek at the next DCU animated movie "Green Lantern: Emerald Knights."

The second best seller this week, surprisingly, goes to Celtic Thunder: Heritage, a live concert from the popular Irish group Celtic Thunder, with 16 tracks on the DVD.  Speaking of live concerts, Les Miserables: The 25th Anniversary Concert is also released this week, which honors 25 years of one of the most popular musicals of all time.

Back to the features, the comedy Due Date is now due, starring Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis.  The only extra on the DVD is a gag reel, but the Blu-ray/DVD package includes that and several more, such as Deleted Scenes, an "Action Mashup," "Too Many Questions Mashup,"  and a "Two and a Half Men" Sequence featuring Ethan Tremblay.  Get Low, the dramedy starring Robert Duvall and Bill Murray is out, extras included are an audio commentary with Duvall, Sissy Spacek, director Aaron Schneider, and producer Dean Zanuck, cast & crew Q&A, three behind-the-scenes featurettes, and an "On the Red Carpet" feature.  Finally, Stieg Larsson's Dragon Tattoo Trilogy, comprised of "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo," "The Girl Who Played with Fire," and "The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest" and a 4th disc with 2 hours of extras.

The biggies from TV land this week are Season 6 of Weeds, Set 17 of Midsomer Murders, and Season 2 of Nurse Jackie.

Waiting for Superman, Unstoppable, The Fugitive, Dr. Who, Top Gear....

Only two major theatrical features are being released this week on DVD: The very buzzy documentary (that was snubbed in this year's Oscar nominations) Waiting for 'Superman' and the action flick Unstoppable, starring Denzel Washington and Chris Pine.  Extras on Waiting for 'Superman' include four additional stories from inspiring teachers and students, a conversation with the director Davis Guggenheim, audio commentary by the director and producer of the film, and three featurettes about the future of public education.  Only two extras, however, on the Unstoppable DVD:  An audio commentary by director Tony Scott and a making-of featurette.

Big TV sellers this week are the final season of the classic TV show The Fugitive, another Dr. Who movie this week: Dr. Who: A Christmas Carol, and Season 4 of Spin City, which was Michael J. Fox's final season on the show.  The popular British series for auto lovers, Top Gear, has two new seasons being released on DVD: Season 14 and Season 15.  They are also the first seasons to be released on Blu-ray.  Oh, and for you big kids of the '80s, the full first season of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe is now on DVD.

Finally, the documentary about the life and career of Motörhead singer and bassist Lemmy Kilmister, Lemmy: 49% Motherf*****, 51% Son Of A B**** (which might just be one of the greatest titles, ever).
