This week, Disney's animated classic Alice in Wonderland made its debut on Blu-ray (which is also a DVD Combo, making this its fourth release on DVD). This release includes several new BD-exclusive bonus features, most notably, two different viewing experiences: "Through the keyhole," which references the original Lewis Carroll classic throughout the film and "Disney View," an expanded viewing experience with new Disney art in the wings of the screen.
Also from Disney, the direct-to-video sequel, Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2. Extras include a Game, "This Is My Paradise" music video from Bridgit Mendler, and a short gag reel of Bloopers of the dogs on the movie set.
Two movies with similar titles, but completely different plots, Let Me In and Never Let Me Go. Let Me In stars last year's breakout star from Kick Ass, Chloe Grace Moretz, as a young vampire who befriends a boy. It is a remake of the Swedish film Let the Right One In. Extras on Let Me In include an audio commentary, a making-of featurette, "The Art of Special Effects," "Crash Sequence Step-by-Step," Deleted Scenes with Optional Commentary by the Director, and a Trailer/Marketing Gallery. Never Let Me Go is a romantic drama about three young adults (Keira Knightley, Carey Mulligan and Andrew Garfield) who grew up together in an English boarding school. Extras for Never Let Me Go include a 30-minute making-of documentary and some slideshows of on-set photography, artwork, and Hailsham Campaign Graphics.
Other biggies this week include the legal drama, Conviction, based on the true story of a women (Hilary Swank) who puts herself through law school to defend and attempt to release her brother (Sam Rockwell) from prison on a murder charge. The low-budget sci-fi, aliens-quarantined flick, Monsters and finally, the documentary The Tillman Story, about the NFL player Pat Tillman, who left his million-dollar football career to join the Army, only to be killed two years later by friendly fire, which was not disclosed to the family until weeks after the memorial service.
