The Mechanic, The Rite, The Other Woman, ESPN Films...

This week, three theatrical films dominate the best sellers spot, starting with The Mechanic, starring Jason Statham.  Extras include a "Tools of the Trade" featurette and deleted/extended scenes.  Next up is The Rite, the exorcism thriller starring Anthony Hopkins.  Only bonus feature are additional scenes (the Blu-ray has more extras, including an alternate ending and a featurette about the true events that inspired the movie).  The third theatrical film and best seller this week is The Other Woman, starring Natalie Portman. Other than the theatrical trailer, there are no extras.

Also out this week:  ESPN has released a second volume of their 30 for 30 documentary film series, season 2 of the original Bionic Woman TV show, the direct-to-DVD animated film Thor: Tales of Asgard, and the suspense thriller The Roommate, starring Minka Kelly and Leighton Meester.

  1. It was good to see that it followed the same basic premise of the original movie. Of course there were changes, but not major ones. Jason Statham plays his part well, but then again he plays every part he plays well. The ending was put together well, unexpected probably by some, but it still went along with the movie itself. Working at DISH I like to surf the website looking for good deals, and since I subscribe to Blockbuster by mail already, this caught my eye, right now new Dish customers are eligible for 3 free months of blockbuster by mail.
